Out of all the years i have coached football, i have never seen what took place in medina at that tournament! We played the East Cleveland Chiefs and they shouldn't be invited back to the tournament. Their coaching staff was rude and was cheering on their players for starting fights with our players. They also had 3 illegal hits after the whistle was blown and refs didnt call anything! The parents were in shock and my coaching staff was to.What kind of officiating was that one of my kids was punched in the stomach and 3 players were punching my brunswick player.Their coaches cheered on"Wew!..what did you do bubba! Wew!" , "Thats how to sock it to em"! Was heard from East clevelands sidelines,with their coaches laughing! I stuck up for my boys yesterday of course and refuse to play dirty ball like they enjoy doing. We play Brunswick football, not dirty ball. Are heads are hangin high and it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out something shady happened yesterday. I apologize to our parents and fans. As well as to my players, guaranteeing i will always have their back. We will never suit up against that team expressing such negative behavior ever again.

I just wanted to thank the Buckeye JV coaches and Shiela for helping . My son played for a team for a couple of years, and although I am sure that he "had fun", I now know that after a few great practices with the Buckeyes, he has learned so much about the game of football. He has learned how to tackle without getting hurt, how to physically endure the dreaded 4th quarter, and they are even running plays and everyone knew their holes by the end of the first practice, all of the things that he was not taught the two previous years. Football is NOT about winning, but learning, and for the first time in two years He looks forward to playing the game that he loves. We had a rough year last year, and it is great to see that the coaches of the Buckeyes do not "yell or degrade" the players by calling the kids loosers and pansies for not preformimg well, as did a coach on the other team. My son enjoys the encouragement that he gets from all of the Buckeye coaches, and he has done fantastick this year. Shelia could have resigned us with the same team, and we would have had to stay with them, or leave the league all together, but she stuck out her neck and allowed my son to transfer to another team. She is fantastic so give her a high five when you see her without her, Jodie, Joe, and all of the "great" coaches ccyf would not be as great as it is. Thank all of you, and good luck to all of the ccyf teams this season. |

RaiderMom;
This is the first time I have heard of this parent and the problematic way that he is acting on the sidelines. We've been short staffed since the resignation of the Tackle Coordinator and I have been more tied up with Flag than in past years, so I'm a little out of touch with the goings on within the tackle area of CCYF. I'll try to get to the tackle fields and try to get the problem worked out with the dad once I can see what is going on. Not that I will not take your word about the problem, but I'm surprised that the Coaches haven't dealt with it or reported it themselves; they have access to me 24/7 for problems that arise that affect CCYF.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention;
Joe

| I want to say a few things, I am a football mom of 5 years and my son and our family have enjoyed the sport very much up until this year not by fault of the league or the coaches, he plays with the JV Raiders, the coaches and the boys all work together as a team to try and accomplish what needs to be done, I praise the boys for working hard and trying their best, and I also praise the coaches for taking the time out of their busy schedules and time away from their families (all volunteer) so that my son can enjoy this sport. This year we have encountered an issue with a Dad that has done nothing but cause heartache for the team, the coaches and the parents that have to listen to his disruptions on the sideline, he has no kind words to say, he is vulgure, negative and very disrespectful, and degrades his son in front of his team mates, this man has taken the enjoyment out of this sport for everyone he makes up stories and speaks nothing of the truth, The coaches of the JV Raiders work hard with the boys and this "dad" does nothing but disrupt and distract the team including his son, during practice and during the games it is amazing to me that when this "dad" is not around that his son does much better, however this parent has put a negative mark on his son which has caused a great deal of negative issues with the team including all of the boys. Never in my life have i ever delt with this kind of behavior for a team sport for kids, it literally makes me sick, for the record i am not the only parent who has observed this, i have also had family members observe this behavior during games and practices and it is very embarrassing, i just wanted to state my opinion and maybe justify some things for the coaches and the league, i have a feeling this is not going to end nicely. |

| I wanted to say thank you to the Raiders coaches for their help at thursday practice when my son got hurt. Both of the coaches stayed with him and helped him calm down and both offered to take my other children home so that I could go to the hospital with him. Thank you again and he is doing much better. |

Raider Dad;
Teams are not stacked in any manner...period. We have not changed our operations as long as we have been in existance and there are no plans to do so within the forseeable future.
There were a lot of returning tackle players this year and also we moved players up from Bantam into their original teams, if there was an 'up' team for them to move into. Otherwise we moved them as a unit into an 'up' team in order to keep the players together. We do our best to make sure that teammates stay together as parents make arrangements to car pool and whatever else througout the possible 7 years that the players are able to spend with us.
Several teams were already filled as of February/March this year and couldn't take more players. If your team has a 12 month coach who keeps in contact with his players in the off season, as opposed to the 4 month coaches who expect us to furnish a complete team every season, he will be able to guage whether his team has some experience or whether he has to build it from the ground up every year.
We are not a part of the Rec. Ctr. nor do we pretend to be or slant our advertisements to appear to be a part of any Brunswick school league. We are a member of SH/NEOYF and we comply with their rules and requirements when it comes to our operations. With their oversight, it's not really possible to manipulate the teams or their makeup.
Thank you for your input;
Joe
Kim;
Glad it's all sorted.
Later;
Joe |

It is hard to believe Teams are not being stacked when my sons team has not one 12 y/o and at least 5 or 6 first year players.
I dont need my sons team to be the best team. But they are going to get hurt. I dont see this same issue with the other two teams.
Why not have a draft, why not divide them by age and weight? The rec basketball does it that way. Every year kids should be divided equally. |
